Charles T. Thibodeau & Associates
You Have A Need, We Have Your Solution
About Us
Charles T. Thibodeau and Associates was created in the Spring of 1988 by Charles T. Thibodeau after leaving a position as manager and private detective for Control Data Corporation in Bloomington, Minnesota. For the next fifteen years Charles T. Thibodeau and Associates provided security consulting services to major Fortune 500 companies and other business clients. These services included VIP executive protection, event security, U.S. Olympic Festival security, prison security, DoD defense security, office building security, parking lot security, church security, hospital security, high rise building security, campus security, manufacturing site security, warehouse security, private home security, and college teaching. In these settings, this business completed many quality projects including, risk analysis, vulnerability studies, security audits, security system designs and installations, data security surveys, TSCS sweeps, preparation of policy and procedure manuals, and certified training of Private Detectives and Protective Agents to meet the requirements of the Minnesota State Private Detective and Protective Agent Service board.
Our Mission
13 Benefits of Doing Business with Us:
1. Three-year service contract at no extra charge:
When we teach your employees it is not a one-day event. Because of our extensive record keeping, we keep track of your student records for three years. We have built into this record keeping system several security precautions against mishandling your records. We track a student by name, by company, by attendance sheets, by date, and even by answer sheets if quizzes are used. As a result, we are able to answer questions about which students had what training when, thus freeing you up to keep track of your business.
2. Flexibility:
Flexibility was deliberately built into our training to meet the
staffing needs of employers and busy employees. Once registered,
students are able to complete their required six-hour continuing
training or 12 hour preassignment training in 3, 6, 9, or 12-hour
segments. Each session is a stand-alone unit that can be paired with
others. Because each three-hour session is a stand-alone unit, they
can be taken in any order. Few companies, if any, provide this
service.
3. Quality training by a security professional:
Security topics should be taught from the security perspective. Many trainers are coming from a public law enforcement viewpoint or military viewpoint. The difference is important because the laws affecting private security are different from the laws affecting public law enforcement and the military. Security officers should be proactive/preventive, thus preventing injury to people or property. Police must be reactionary to comply with State and Federal Constitutional mandates as well as State and Federal statute law.
4. Quality training by an experienced, certified private sector college instructor:
Mr. Thibodeau is a licensed teacher who is certified by the State Board of Private Detectives and Protective Agents. Many security professionals know the security industry but do not know how to teach. Student Evaluations indicate that students appreciate Chuck’s knowledge and teaching style.
5. Training methods:
Training is done by tutorial exam, lecture, overhead transparencies, videos and class discussions.
6. Missed session makeup:
If a student misses a session, he is allowed to make up the missed
session by attending any of our regularly scheduled classes for 90
days, free of charge. This is a service not offered by most companies
but our goal is to be the highest quality and the most flexible
company in the business. We go the extra mile to train your employees.
7. Handouts, Research Material:
Because students may be in need of a refresher from time to time, our company makes a point of having plenty of handouts on topics being taught. Each student is given a worksheet plus several other handouts on key points. Class discussion is up-to-date and applied to real-world situations.
8. Certificates of Completion:
Upon successful completion of the course, beautiful Certificates of Completion are issued to the company for the student. These certificates are suitable for framing.
9. Records sent to employer:
The original Certificate of Completion and a copy of the Student Record is sent to the employer for the student. The employer receives a copy of both documents for their records.
10. Alphabetical Student Matrix:
For large companies or at the employer’s request we make an Alphabetical Student Matrix, which enables you, the employer, to tell at a glance who has completed training and who has not. Companies have reported that this is a very handy form.
11. Private customized classes available upon request:
Private customized classes (for five or more) designed to meet specific employer’s needs. This is another aspect of our flexibility which few companies, if any, offer.
12. Value Added Services for Students Coming to Our Training Facility:
For students who come to our classroom, "Freedom Hall," we provide free beverages, snacks and lunch. This creates a relaxed training atmosphere where exchanging views, experiences, and networking is encouraged. Our later start time of 10:00 a.m. also allows for a more relaxed drive and a more relaxed student. The historic decor of our classroom enhances the curriculum topics because personal security and safety were foremost concerns for our Founding Fathers. These foundational concepts were built into our Declaration of Independence and our United States Constitution. Note: We do not provide beverages or food outside of our classroom, "Freedom Hall."
13. Have Training-Will Travel!
We travel all over the State of Minnesota to bring you the finest quality training in the state. Again, this is part of our flexibility that few other, (if any), companies offer. Note: We do not provide beverages or food outside of our classroom, "Freedom Hall."
